①    稲の苗

②    大内庄での土砂採掘。烏山頭ダムの堰堤は土砂を固めて作られている。八田與一は調査の結果大内庄の曾文渓の河原の土砂が適していることを確認し、これを用いることとした。大内庄は烏山頭から20キロ離れているので、この間に鉄道を敷設し、ダンプ式の貨車で運搬することとした。土砂の採掘や運搬に欧米から大型の機械を導入した。

A 20 km Railroad was constructed and dumping type freight cars carried earth to Wusanto. Large machineries were imported from USA and Europe.
